RED SPEAKERS (Moscow, Russia)
In the spring of 2018, the exhibition "Red Speakers" opened in the center of Moscow, in the Boogie Gallery. The curator Sudova has combined 2 series of works by the artist Stella Labuzhskaya. A series of works includes rebus paintings in which the artist encoded phrases from her favorite Soviet films: “12 chairs”, “Love and Pigeons”, “Prisoner of the Caucasus”, “Ivan Vasilyevich changes his profession”, “Diamond Hand” and others. The viewer must guess which phrase is depicted on the canvas. You can check your guess with the help of a cassette that activates a special micro-sound module that each art object is equipped with. The significance of this project lies in building lively communication between generations through the prism of the country's cultural heritage. The second part of exhibition the «Red Hole Theory» tells us that any life process in the material world has three pillar systems in its foundation: thought-word-action, where action is an indispensable final element for the realization of thought. If the process dwells on a thought or word, a “red hole” forms in the subject’s space and structure, provoking even greater inaction, laziness and apathy to movement, which subsequently forms layers of illusory thinking.
