6th MOSCOW INTERNATIONAL BIENNALE FOR YOUNG (The Boogie Gallery participant)
In the summer of 2018, Boogie Gallery was a participant of the 6th Moscow International Biennale For Young. Curator Natalia Sudova chose Nastya Miro's project “Noise” for participation. The opening took place on the the Pop Up Museum (Moscow). A series of large-scale works painstakingly created by Nastya for several years. The series consists of more than 20 paintings. The exposition is accompanied by object and digital installations. The art critic, Philip Brookk, describes the concept of the Noise exhibition as follows: “The noise of a television or radio, turned on in the morning and unceasing until the very evening, is part of our childhood memories. Media noise is an intricate soundtrack of our whole life, it is becoming more and more difficult to imagine ourselves in isolation from it.” Famous and at the same time completely unfamiliar, media people look at the viewer in the hope of being understood. The excess of information, characteristic of our time, disorient a person, information pluralism leads to problems of self-identification. Focusing on the personality of the heroes, the artist does not get rid of the media noise around them, which plays the role of both a symbolic and actual background. The author's technique directly echoes and reinforces the message, the cold and impersonal print of noise on the canvas sets off a warm, laconic tempera that emphasizes the humanity of the images. Perhaps the artist subconsciously feels the importance of the noise background, as structure-determining for the awareness of artistic images.
